Location
Kefalonia is the largest of the Ionian Islands , north of Zakynthos and South of Corfu. The Ionians have a lovely climate which encourages green fields and wildlife.
Kefalonia has its own airport and is serviced by most U.k airports and most days of the week.
Kefalonia Villas are on the western side of the Island in a province known as `Paliki`. Lixouri is the district capital and is a lovely small town with tavernas lining the pretty quayside.
Kefalonia Villas are five minutes north by car , 700mtrs from the water overlooking the beautiful bay of Argostoli.
Weather
July and August are the hottest months of the year. The temperature is approximately 34-42 degrees C.September and October, is like spring and can be a wonderful time to visit Kefalonia. It is still hot, but not overbearing, the sea is still warm and people are more relaxed at the end of the season. The temperature is approximately 27-34 degrees C.
Getting There
Flying: Direct flights take 2.5 hours from most UK airports. Cheap charter flights are available from the following airlines: Olympic Airways, Excel Airways, Thomson flightsCar Hire: Hire cars can be pre-booked from the airport or on arrival from the following: Europcar and Perfanis
The Villas are 45 minutes from the airport.
Transfer from the airport to the villas takes approx 45minutes driving around the bay or you can take 10 mins from the airport to include a lovely ferry ride (about 25mins) where you may spot the local school of dolphins. (Last year we had a lovely lunch watching two turtles diving for food.) From the ferry, you arrive in Lixouri where you can stock up on food and drink at one of the supermarkets and enjoy the view.
The villas are just five minutes outside Lixouri, a map will be sent prior to your departure the pool will be waiting.
